Hi Payal,

There is no much count of people who take dinner (or for that matter breakfast/lunch/tiffin). Do you think, all inmates do take all 4 meals.. Probably, its by experience that mess contractor is making most of the time right quantity of food.. It may create some confusion in the beginning.. with time they will get to know, which is the least preffered dinner.. and what is the probable number of gals going for no dinner..

And about keeping a watch.. Most of us know that they are good in doing it! They very well keep a watch whoz taking egg+regular brk fast.. whoz taking more than 1 sweet (may be u can argue sweet is kept at their desk, but boiled eggs are not!)

If students can wait.. it can be provided with extra charge! but not with regular mess fee! If extra cahreg provided, there will be proper head count of how many will go for pay and have milk and there wont be any wastage!Thats interesting

 Dear Radhika,

Its not that the mess council is ignorant. We discussed this and found that :-
1) There will not be a count of how many people want milk instead of dinner, and hence will lead to food wastage.
2) It will not be possible to look after that those people who are taking milk are not taking dinner. So, it will become just like breakfast, and it is not possible.
3)As I mentioned in my earlier mail that there are limited mess workers and at the peak dinner time, it will not be possible to provide milk on time.
So, we can utmost provide milk, if students are ready to pay extra and to wait, just like in tiffin time.

Very much expected reply!

Guess its too much difficult to impart any flexibility!

Whatever suggestions which will help gals have some less hated food will be bonded by contract rules which in no means can be though of made flexible by discussion with contractors.. Giving a try is the last thing which could be done!

Anyways, Thanks for bothering to reply..

Hi Radhika
I think your asking for milk in night means dinner timing, i can do this ask them but at the peak time when everyone is busy it might take time to serve milk then you have to wait and it will be charged extra like in tiffin.
But if you mean free milk for those who don't want dinner it's not possible.
Because there is some rule in contract which decide the per day charges and no. of menu items.
