Subject: Request for technical help in starting a product based
technical venture.
I am Manuj Keshari, a 2009 passout from BITS
PILANI Goa Campus. I have previously worked with Tejas Networks & ST Microelectronics and am now starting my own
technical venture in Image Processing and its applications on embedded
hardware. The application targeted is Biometrics Identification. I
got to know about you from one of your ex-students: Rahul Kumar, a 2009 MTech,
(Embedded Systems) passout from DAVV Indore, currently working in
ST.
I have developed the code for my application
in MATLAB (using concepts of Statistical Image Processing and Artificial
Intellgence) and am currently trying to integrate it with an open source
code (licensed under BSD) in OpenCV / MATLAB to make it more effective and
useful. I am presently looking to expand technical team by including
electronics and Computer Science enthusiasts to work with me in improving the
code and finally developing an embedded application around it.
Sir, I am currently stuck with a lack of team and a
general guidance, both technically and on entrepreneurial front. I
have a target application and am looking for some technical guidance
about developing a hardware for the same. It would be great of you, Sir, if you
could take some time out from your busy schedule to please mentor and guide me
about the technical aspects of it. I have contacted TiE (The Indus Entrepreneur) to understand the
business side of my application and am in continuous discussions with them to
improve my B-Plan and marketability of this product.
Sir, I am attaching a draft of my B-Plan for your
kind reference. Please note this is not final (and not complete, fields marked
TBD have to be discussed and filled) and might be modified based on feedbacks
received from TiE mentoring sessions. This is just for a quick & first hand
information about the product and the market I am targeting.
