1.  JRF position available under Centre for Research Excellence in Water (CORE) in Department of Biological Sciences

Applications are invited for Junior Research Fellowship in Department of Biological Sciences, BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus for the Project titled ““Development and demonstration of two decentralized wastewater treatment systems””.

The duration of the project is 3 years and the salary is as per the rules of BITS Pilani.

Qualifications: M.Sc / M.E in Life sciences, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Biochemical Engineering

2.  2 JRF positions available under Centre for Research Excellence in Water (CORE) funded by BITS, Pilani

Two positions of Junior Research Fellows are available for a period of 3 years (2014-2017) starting March, 2014 a part of BITS, Pilani consortium project entitled “Development of a Field-deployable Biosensor for Bacterial sensing in potable water” in the Department of Chemistry and Biological Sciences, KK Birla Goa Campus.

Eligibility criteria:

Eligible candidates must have 1st class M.Sc./M.E./M.Tech (Microbiology/Medical Microbiology/Molecular Microbiology)/Chemistry/Biochemistry. Candidates with good knowledge and experience in water or diagnostic Microbiology/Biosensors/Surface chemistry will be preferred. Selected candidates will be offered Rs.16,000/- p.m. fellowship (consolidated).

3. JRF/SRF position available in CSIR sponsored project in Department of Chemistry

Applications are invited form the motivated candidates with Master degree in chemistry / equivalent degree in related fields, who want to pursue Ph.D. programme in synthetic organic chemistry / heterogeneous catalysis. He/She may be awarded fellowship from CSIR funded project entitled “Synthesis of Metal-Organic-Porous-Material Based Efficient Chiral Heterogeneous Catalysts by Post-Synthetic Modification and Their Applications in Asymmetric Reactions” (Project no. 02(0075)/12/EMR-II) according to his/her last qualification. Candidates with knowledge in material chemistry and hand-on experience in synthetic organic chemistry will be given precedence. The advertisement is recirculated to fill up the recently open post of JRF/SRF in the said project.
 
For Junior Research Fellow:
Qualification: First Class in M Sc. (chemistry) / equivalent degree and NET / valid GATE qualification.

Qualification: First Class in M Sc. (chemistry) / equivalent degree with at least 60% marks & one publication in SCI Journal and should have completed at least 2 years of post M.Sc. research/teaching experience (experience certificate should be produced) or candidates possessing ME in allied field of chemistry / M. Pharm (in pharmaceutical chemistry) or equivalent qualifications.

Applications are invited for a JRF/ SRF position in the Department of Chemistry at BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa Campus, Goa for a CSIR Funded Project entitled “Preparation of Magnetically Separable, Mesoporous TiO2 Catalysts and Study of their Catalytic Properties”.

Broad area of research:  Nanostructuted materials, advanced catalysts and organic reactions.

About Principal Investigator: Dr. Narendra Nath Ghosh, Associate Professor of Chemistry at BITS Pilani, KK Birla Goa Campus, has received his MSc (1994) and PhD (1999) in Chemistry from IIT Kharagpur. He is former Post doctoral fellow of Univ. of Delaware (USA), Univ. of Tennessee- Knoxville (USA), University of Kentucky- Lexington (USA) and Visiting Research Professor of Drexel University (USA). His area of research interests are (i) Synthesis of nanostructured materials, (ii) advanced catalysis, (iii) polymer- ceramic nanocomposites. As of 2013 Dr. Ghosh and his colleagues have published more than 70 research papers in international journals, book chapters and international conference proceedings. He is associate editor of two International journals and reviewer of more than 30 international journals. Under his guidance 3 students have received PhD degree and two are pursuing their PhD program. Dr Ghosh is Principal investigator of number of sponsored research projects sponsored by DRDO, DST, BRNS, DST-UKIERI (Indo UN project), Royal Academy of Engineering, UK etc. He collaborates with the scientists from various reputed national universities and research organizations as well as international universities. 5. JRF position in Department of Physics in DAE-BRNS funded project

Applications are invited for a JRF position in the Department of Physics for the DAE-BRNS funded Project "Neutron stars as potential continuous Gravitational Wave Emitter ”. 6. JRF position available in DAE-BRNS sponsored Project in the Department of Physics

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the position of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on the following project under the supervision of Dr Chandradew Sharma, Department of Physics, BITS-Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus.

Title of the project: “Searching for new physics in B meson decay”

Duration of the project: 3 years and extendable, leading to Ph.D.

Project position and number: JRF, ONE

Fellowship amount: Rs 16,000 per month (for two years) and Rs 18000 per month subsequently

Eligibility requirements: M.Sc in Physics with at least 60% aggregate marks (First division).
