Hi.

I installed mTCP on MS-DOS 6.22 on QEMU VM and it works fine. I read in mTCP .pdf file, that IRCjr is using UTF-8 somehow, and I should look for more info into documentation. Alas, I coudn't find anything but this google group mentioned. So I wonder how exactly I should configure my DOS enviroment to force IRCjr to render unicode signs correctly? Or at least change them into basic letter? Here's what I mean. I talk on polish IRC server, and there is some latin letter variants in polish, like Ą Ę etc. The codepage in DOS is 852 for polish language. I'd like to see these letters, or (if not possible) to see A in place of Ą. Can you give me some advice how to do it, or share some links to some documentation on this?

Greetings,
Marek.

Hi Marek,

Have you checked the PDF documentation?  You need to set an environment variable to enable UTF-8.  The PDF can be found on the home page with the other downloads.

Hi,

Yeah, it was there indeed. I was initially looking for it uder IRCjr section, but whatever. I've made a file for CP852 according to wikipedia and it seems like it works. Let me attach it here. You can put it into project, if you wish.

Regards,
Marek.

(My apologies for the late reply.)

Congratulations on being the first person I know to create a new code page mapping file!  Did you find anything in the instructions that could be improved?

Thank you. I think the documentation is quite clear.

Marek.
