Dear Sa Mạc Sinh,
How is your day going? Are you ready to start this spiritual journey? Let’s do it!!
In the name of the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit.
The Sorrowful Mysteries: First Decade: The Agony of Our Lord in the Garden (Matthew 26:36-56) we pray for Sorrow for Sin.
Second Decade: Our Lord is Scourged at the Pillar (Matthew 27:26) we pray for Purity.
Third Decade: Our Lord is Crowned with Thorns (Matthew 27:27-31) we pray for Courage.
Fourth Decade: Our Lord Carries the Cross to Calvary (Matthew 27:32) we pray for Patience.
Fifth Decade: The Crucifixion of Our Lord (Matthew 27:33-56) we pray for Perseverance.
(you may pick one of the 5 Mysteries & contemplate on it. For example- the Agony of Our Lord in the Garden- it’s dark, the crickets are the only one that’s making noises. You’re sitting beside Jesus. He’s leaning on a big rock, on his knees praying. Big drops of sweat mix with blood dripping from His face. You feel like you want to share his pain but don’t know what to do…so you just sit there with Him….)
Please say the Our Father, 10 Hail Mary & Glory Be.
The First Reading of today’s mass: “A faithful friends is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure. “ Sirach 6:14
Reflection: We are to choose our friends very carefully by asking these questions: Are they authentic, loyal & supportive? Or, do they waver when the seasons of your heart turn from joy to sorrow? Jesus called his disciples, friends (John 15:15). He was for them a sturdy shelter, a support in hard times, a treasure beyond price. He was asking the same of them. We, too, are friends of Jesus.
Action: List a few of your friends. What makes this person a friend? Are the requirements listed in the Book of Sirach present in this friendship? Pray for your friends today. We also pray for the people in the tornado in Moore Oklahoma, may they find comfort and strength in Jesus as they rebuild their lives. Amen.
In the name of the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit. God bless all of you.
