My API key works for http://datamine.mta.info/mta_esi.php?key=<API KEY>&feed_id=1 URL (used for MTA Subways), but not for https://mnorth.prod.acquia-sites.com/wse/gtfsrtwebapi/v1/gtfsrt/[API KEY]/json (used for LIRR/Metro North real-time data). It returns a page simply stating 'Access Denied.'

I have tried with and without brackets, but have had no luck. Can anybody show me the syntax for a working call?

Thanks

probably syntax is not the problem.

you need to send your key to John. I guess to get on a whitelist.

Thanks, got whitelisted! Where can I find documentation to connect route ids to keywords like "Whiteplains" to figure out what line each track is. Also there are way to get the train's departure track when it is announced?

Use the GTFS static data to help you link towards the realtime data

I am getting this same "Access Denied" error. Who do I e-mail to get White listed? And why doesn't the documentation include th is step?

Use the GTFS stops.txt file withing the zip schedule feed. The train name is used to correlate the schedule ant the real time feed.
