New Status API on new.mta.info

We noticed that new.mta.info is using a new API for service status that would be a perfect option for us in replacing the legacy grouped line serviceStatus.txt feed. The API includes every line and its status in JSON format:
The request on new.mta.info includes what appears to be a hard-coded API key.
We tried using our own MTA API key from datamine with this API, but it's not working (not authorized).

How do we go about getting our own key for this API? Or would using this existing key that's on the homepage be sufficient?

Can we please get updates on this matter. Would be nice to use it as it is way better being in JSON
