The mta.info website for the Queens Bus Redesign https://www.mta.info/project/queens-bus-network-redesign contains a link to a static GTFS: https://new.mta.info/document/162941.

Its presence surprised me because the MTA's rep stated that it would not be published before the redesign was implemented. The reason given was that such preliminary schedules might contain errors.

I downloaded the link. The GTFS not only has errors - it' bears no resemblance to any proposed Queens Bus Redesign documentation.

An expansion of the zip file reveals that the two gtfs directories (NYCT and MTABC) bear the timestamp: 22 January 2025 11:53. Expanding the directories reveal creation date of 13 December 2024 for the various txt files.

A preliminary sanity check on the NYCT calendar.txt file reveals start and end dates between: 20141122 and 20141212. The calendar_dates.txt file includes the 20141211 and 20241212 dates.

An initial sanity check of the routes.txt and trips.txt files reveals no resemblance to any of the proposed plan service changes. I have not checked the files against my archive of static gtfs files from 2014.

Is there any hope that a semi-accurate static gtfs file can be posted before the redesign is implemented? The static gtfs does provide information that cannot be ascertained from scraping the pdf's.

Thanks in advance.

Steve
