About the Disability Resource Center:
The Disability Resource Center (DRC) leads UC Santa Cruz in providing educational equity and a welcoming environment for students with disabilities. The DRC identifies legally mandated accommodations that address disabling barriers and work with faculty and students to remove or mitigate various barriers. The DRC educates campus stakeholders on disability diversity and equal educational access. The team ensures compliance with State, Federal and local laws and ensures compliance with UC policies.

We are seeking candidates who are equity-minded, student-centered, and highly collaborative for these positions which support student access.  The Disability Resource Center is a dynamic and collaborative environment to work in where staff are constantly learning and growing alongside one another.

Senior Service Coordinator:
Under the general direction of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) Assistant Director, the Senior Service Coordinator acts as a DRC liaison with campus stakeholders functioning as an organizational lead for supporting disability management and ensures legal compliance with regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Using knowledge and skills as a qualified, experienced professional in the disabilities field, this position engages with a wide range of accommodation issues on a case by case basis. Applies critical thinking to accommodation decisions, and applies legal paradigms and best practices for formulating processes to implement accommodations. The position will participate in handling escalated or appealed accommodation decisions, and consults with the DRC administrator group for particularly contentious issues and / or highly complex situations.  Some appealed or escalated cases will be referred to the campus ADA Coordinator.

Service Coordinator:
Under the general supervision of Senior Service Coordinator, the Service Coordinator is responsible for providing and coordinating a wide range of academic accommodations and support services to college students with varying types of disabilities to promote student success/retention/graduation at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Will consult with supervisor or other senior staff regarding complex student issues, faculty concerns, or decisions that can impact University compliance and liability under federal and state disability law and regulations. Responsibilities also include: student disability advising; liaison, advocacy, educating and training students and other members of the campus community regarding disability-related issues and how to create a welcoming environment and activities to facilitate equal access. The incumbent may also supervise and train student employees and interns.

Project and Policy Analyst:
The Project and Policy Analyst will serve as the hub of the Disability Resource Center operations, providing strategic support to the Director, the Leadership Team, and the entire department in the areas of policy analysis, project management, and operations.  The Project & Policy Analyst will apply professional concepts to fully analyzes issues and problems, gather data and information, find and evaluates alternatives and make sound recommendations.  The Project & Policy Analyst will work directly with students as the supervisor for the office assistants, and will lead intake of student cases to the office.
