Voluntary contribution

Dear All

While talking to some people about the work being done ( YB , party , meetings , Cyclathon etc ) for the 25 th year celebrations, I got a feeling that some people are very keen to help. But either they are not in Delhi or extremely busy. This makes it difficult to help.

However , some raised the issue of contribution and hoping that all costs are being shared. This got me thinking that if our friends are aware that they can contribute , some would do so voluntarily.

Depending on the ratification of the OC and the amount we receive, the fund so collected can be utilised for --

1. Costs of Kylin

2. Teachers dinner costs

3. Momento

4. Decoration or do up of Kylin

5. Giving back to school.

etc etc

I propose to put up a post on FB, which will list the activities and if anyone is open to contributing voluntarily may write to an email id.  Thereafter the method of collection and utilisation can be discussed. However, we will not ASK anyone to contribute and let this be totally voluntary.

These are my thoughts and would request each one of you to comment. Its time we take these steps and freeze matters

In my opinion, we should clearly state the amounts that need to be collected for each task, along with info on amounts already collected. Anyone willing to contribute partially/fully is most welcome and the figures can be revised periodically to show the balances required.

So, for example, if we require 1.5L for YB and 1L has been received, we should state this and leave it to group members to decide if they'd choose if they's like to contribute to YB or other.

We should focus on three heads, as follows:

1. YB costs
2. Faculty invitation costs
3. Incidental expenses at Kylin (photographer, tips etc.).

We could either leave the amounts to be collected 'open' or specify the amounts required to be collected.

Reg the memento - did we take a decision that we want the YB to serve as a memento or if we want an additional one?

What we did discuss was to have the yb as the momento. ...just saw a post from vikram bhardwaj if we can put the vp89 in yb. Sounds like a fantastic idea but yb team is final authority and depending on the additional pages etc etc. But I just thought that was so cool.

On another front, I spoke with Gosain yesterday and he tells me the Editorial tea will visit his offices soon. Maybe the 1L already received could be handed over to him at this time so he can buy the imported paper (which has variable cost).

Yes ashish. Your both observations aree correct ::)) must say u are from IMD.

Contribution -- 100 k recd. 50 k to be recd in next meeting.

Faculty are part of fb page , so some feedback was NOT to mention that we will collect for teachers. So that cost is actually part off kylin 100 k.

Some more comments from me --
If we are actually able to collect a decent sum , may be we keep kylin @2500 only and meet exp ( tip , photographer , deco etc ) from contributions.

Secondly , I am very keen on some contribution either to school or a social education cause. The amount collected may give us a direction of what can be done.

The issue is that Pankaj and group confirmed many times for 150 k. It was perhaps not fair to mention 100k . He has confirmed by sms today as well.

Secondly, we cant mention teachers costs are to be borne by us, as teachers are part of FB page. So a bit tricky.
