I'm forwarding this to the larger group since there was a lot of discussion reg design at the last mtng - design is v subjective, so there will always be differing opinions. 

This brief is based on the agreement we reached at the mtng.

Hi Mahesh

I am mailing across the points on the design brief we discussed yesterday. Please do let me know when you can send me the drafts.

1. The foreground will have 4 elements: person's name, contact details, pictures, write up

1a. Person's name - to be standard throughout the book

1b. Contact details - to be standard throughout the book. you could place it in a 'brick', 'post-it' or any other idea that you have

1c. Pictures - let's create 10-12 styles of picture frames, and use them throughout the book. some examples of frames can be - bricks, blue uniform colour, polaroid, cello tape, pin etc. i am sure you will have more such ideas

1d. Write up - this will be like a free flowing essay (not in boxes with headings). again, let's create 10-12 styles and use throughout the book. some examples - spiral binding, notepad paper, post it, etc

2. Background: Let's try two backgrounds - one with bricks and the other with the blue uniform colour. You can pick the colour and style from this website 

I will send you two profile write ups along with the pics today/tomorrow. Let's use these on the samples. One of them is short with few pics and the other is long with more pics. This will give us an idea of how the pages with different types of content will look.

As discussed, please come and collect the sample year book from me. 

I hope we can see some samples in a couple of days.
