A Message from MSVBA Board of Directors:
NEW: Women's Team Captain Incentive Program
MSVBA is pleased to announce a new program to help encourage women to captain teams for tournaments. Anyone who captains a team in 3 separate women’s tournaments (not mixed gender) during the 2015-2016 season, retroactive to the start of the season, will receive a free USAV membership for the 2016-2017 season! This program will be re-evaluated prior to the 2106-2017 season.

NEW: Women Playing in Men's Tournament Rule
Also, in an effort to better serve the greater MSVBA membership, and to maximize the number of teams entered into MSVBA tournaments, MSVBA is instituting a temporary rule which will not allow women to play in a men’s tournament unless there are at least 4 registered teams in the women’s tournament. This rule goes into effect on January 25 and will expire after the final tournament of the 2015-2016 season. MSVBA will reevaluate this rule before the 2016-2017 season begins.

3/6 Women’s C+
4/2 Women’s C
4/23 Women’s C and Women’s B-
MSVBA wants to do whatever we can to avoid running 3-team tournaments; they are not as fun for those who are participating! More importantly, we also want to avoid having to cancel tournaments altogether due to lack of teams. Not only will this benefit the volleyball program hosting the tournament, but it will provide a better, more satisfying tournament experience for all players on all teams.
We realize that some MSVBA members will be impacted more than others; for that, we apologize. Please keep in mind that we are instituting this rule in the spirit of benefiting the greater good.
