This meeting is extra special everyone! We will be begining early
this Wednesday at 5pm in the Webster hall Main Lounge! Resident's
Week, building captains must attend for more information concerning
their building's team. Any one interested in being on their building's
team may also attend.

And last but not least we will be discussing the open executive board
positions. So those of you who are interested please come join us at 5
pm in the Webster Hall Main Lounge this Wednesday! If you do not
recall the positions and the responsibilities that were presented,
feel free to read on. We look forward to meeting you all tomorrow.

E- Board Position Descriptions:


The Residential Leadership Council is searching for goal oriented
residents to fill the following positions; Secretary, National
Communications Chair, Webmaster (Technology Chair), Program
Coordinator, Historian, Co-President 1, Co-President 2, RA/RLC/SGA
Liaison, Treasurer, and NRHH Chair.

How to Apply:

This extensive group of executive board members is responsible for the
comfort, fun, and development of the resident student population. If
any of these leadership opportunities interest you please send us a
chronological list of current or previous leadership positions or
roles that you have engaged in. Also, please send a brief yet
informative description of the responsibilities that the position
entailed. Resumes will be accepted as well. Please email all of your

following phrase in the email subject line; executive board candidate.

We will have an RLC information session on Wednesday April 4th from
5-6:30pm in the Webster Hall Lounge. Please attend if you have any
questions, or if you just want to learn more information about the
organization.

Keep in mind that the descriptions below are brief and the rest of the
responsibilities will be explained during the interview. If you are
still not clear about what the Residential Leadership Council does,
please feel free to check us out on the housing website. Please know
that this is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally, while
having a great time living on campus. Please keep in mind that if you
are applying you must be living on campus during the next academic
year.
Brief Organization description:
The Residential Leadership Council is a student group that exists
under the Department of Residential Education and Services. If you are
a resident you are already a member! We provide fun, and educational
programs such as, annual trips to Fright Fest, Pizza Hut Day,
Residents Weekend, Roommate Appreciation Day, Diversity Awareness
Events, and plenty more. The Residential Leadership Council also
provides opportunities for leadership development. We exist to serve,
represent, and give voice to the residential student population.


The RLC executive board consists of the following briefly described
positions:
Co-President 1&2
· Serve as the official representative of the RLC to campus
· Preside over all RLC general meetings and executive board meetings
· Handle all matters pertaining to the general welfare of the
organization
· Coordinate and oversee the committees within the RLC
· Serve as the liaison to the res-ed/housing staff, office and
administration

Program Coordinator
· Work with campus administrators to reserve rooms for programs
· Assist Presidents with creating and facilitating programs
· Work with Historian to keep a record of programs conducted

Secretary
· Maintain records of the RLC including minutes, attendance reports,
program reports, and
correspondence
· Distribute materials to the appropriate students, faculty,
administration, staff, etc.
· Send out reminders or updates to members and other appropriate
students, faculty, administration,
staff etc. as deemed necessary
· Oversee communication within the organization including contact
lists, e-mail lists, etc.

National Communications Coordinator (NCC)
· Serve as the liaison between the RLC, NACURH and the regional
affiliate
· Attend and vote at regional and national conferences, in particular,
NCC Business Meetings
· Assist presidents with the delegation of Conference tasks.
· Coordinate all aspects of forming and sending a delegation to
conferences including funding, spirit and other activities.
· Relay information from other NACURH member schools to the RLC.
· Prepare and submit all dues and reports as requested by NACURH and
the regional affiliate,
including monthly newsletters to regional institutions.

Webmaster (Technology Chair)/ Publicity Chair Assistant
· Responsible for any technology used during RLC events.
· Maintains the www.msurlc.com website and updates it on a regular
basis.
· Assist Publicity chair with technology influenced advertisement, as
well as other methods of advertisement.

Historian
· Responsible for keeping written, photographic, and video records of
all RLC events.
·The Historian's purpose is to organize and produce an RLC scrapbook.
The scrapbooks(s) will be held in the RLC Executive Board Office,
other members of the RLC will assist with this project.

RA/RLC/SGA Liaison
· Serves as a link between Residential Education and Services staff
members, the RLC, and the SGA by keeping all three groups informed
about each others events and activities.
(An RA is preferred for this position)


NRHH Chair
· Exists to honor and recognize outstanding members of the residence
hall system, and other campus-wide faculty members who work to promote
a higher quality and standard of involvement and interaction through
weekly and weekend programming.
