Hi, Friend:   Tomorrow is National Science Appreciation Day!   What started as a simple idea is now a nationwide celebration recognized in cities and states all across the country. See Who's Celebrating March 26 was chosen as the date for National Science Appreciation Day to commemorate the anniversary of Dr. Jonas Salk’s 1953 announcement of successful trials for the polio vaccine, a world-changing scientific breakthrough that has saved the lives of millions worldwide. People all over the country have shared their own #ScienceSaves stories with us: A four-year-old diagnosed with leukemia who got to grow up. A boy whose face was rebuilt—bone, muscle, and nerve—after a barbell crushed it. A woman treated for invasive lobular breast cancer, diagnosed just years after research on it began. A dog who healed because modern veterinary medicine replaced guesswork with science. A three-year-old whose life was permanently altered by polio before a vaccine existed.
