Hi All,

Couple of things I would like to ask your special attentions:

·         Slippery roads!

·         Watch for Traffic

·         Stay Quiet in the hall!

·         Watch for safety of our kids inside and outside of the building

One special seminar/discussion on Okemos School District’s equity plan for diverse cultures: room 110, 10:40 – 12:00, hosted by Tina Zhuang (A parent of our school, a previous school administrator, a OPS volunteer).

For details about the Community Conversation on Jan 13 hosted by Okemos Public Schools at the Senior Center, please see http://www.okemosschools.net/education/district/district.php?sectionid=1. Tina would like to use this opportunity to communicate what she heard from that Community Conversation (Very few Asian parents attended!), and promote the participation of our Chinese Community in such events for the benefits of our kids education both in the short term and long term.

As a lot of parents and students of MSU Chinese School are in Okemos School District, we support and promote this action, and we strongly encourage you as a parent of OPS to come and speak out your voice and show your support. The actions/plan that come out of such community conversation will affect the school resource allocation (staffing, programs, ….) immediately and then the quality of education your kids received!

Also encourage parents to do this survey that may impact if the school district waive 2nd language learning if graduated from our Chinese School: WORLD LANGUAGE SURVEY

On Thursday, January 7, 2016 you should have received an email with a link to the survey asking for input on World Language programs in the Okemos Public Schools.

The district is exploring offering a World Language program at the K-6 levels and additional language options to include at the secondary (7-12) level.  Your input for the planning and future decision making on this topic is critically important.  The survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete and can be accessed through the link that is provided below.

On Duty, Youyu Feng, Guangming He, room 110, 10:30 – 12:20

Thanks,

Guangming
