Time flies but the winter not here yet!

All parents, please continue to stay QUIET in the hall during classes – be a good model to your kids. You can always use empty classrooms for discussion/chatting/…

·         Dictionary: first I’d like to say sorry – still some students not got their dictionaries. If parents please check, if ordered and still did not get it, please let me know and we will deliver!

·         Please note that there will be no class during Thanks giving week Nov 29 – Happy Holidays!

·         A lot of classes are reviewing what were learned and are getting ready for final exam – so parents please help: this is very important for next term’s study

·         Books: as you might hear or know, the School purchased some kids books (~20), and accepted various kinds of books from Chinese governments through the Michigan Chinese School Association (~250 on Chinese history, culture, for kids, for Chinese teaching, tools, ….). We would like to share with the community (teachers/students/parents/…) but found it is difficult to manage the process. Recently we worked out a partnership with Okemos Library (a branch of CADL). The Okemos library offer to catalog/circulate the books using their existing system and make them available to us. The school admin team discussed this and would like to hear from parents on (before we ask an approval from the school board):

o   We will select and keep some books, especially useful for teaching, not share with the library

o   We like to donate the remaining to the lib

o   The lib will manage them, and the users will follow their policy to use the books as their other books

o   Seems most parents/community members (Except of those of East Lansing but you can still ask your friends not living in EL to help) are part of CADL so should be able to borrow the books through Okemos or your local library

o   As part of the partnership with the library, we (the school and parents) will also help the library to build up a nice Chinese books collection

o   Any ideas/suggestions are welcome

·         Thanks to parents/teachers, we have interviewed many candidates and will select 3 new teachers for next Semester.

·         On Duty, Xuefei Hao, Guangming He room 108, 10:30 – 12:00
