Hello MSSA!

Now that Mark is done bombarding your inbox with messages about the T shirts, I am afraid that it is my turn!  It is time to ramp up the online fundraising for the ACS Regatta.  Please consider creating a team and sharing the donation link out on your email and social media.  If everyone in the club raises $50 it adds up to a lot!

Some of you may have noticed that the gofundme (formerly crowdrise) changed from last year.  It has taken us some time to figure out the best way to utilize the platform with the new configuration forced on us.  Use of the gofundme site has raised a substantial  amount of money since we began using it as a fundraising vehicle for the Regatta.  Don't forget that any money contributed here will go directly to the American Cancer Society!

In order to have a "team" for the regatta, you have to receive an invitation from the organizer, in this case, Dave Randle.  If you have had a team in past years he is going to send you a personalized link.  You can accept or not; that is up to you!   If you did not ever have a team or do not receive an invitation from gofundme and would like to have a team please email him directly at sai...@gmail.com.  If you do not want to set up your own team, but still want to donate,  scroll down to the second set of directions.  Thank you to Paul from Organized Chaos for working with me to set up the directions!

Directions to set up your own team:

1.  Click on the "MSSA ACS Regatta 2021" link sent to you or the "join team" button.

2.  Fill in your first and last name, email address and password and click "Next".  This is how your name will appear when you join the MSSA ACS team. 

3.  You will be prompted to "Share Fundraiser" on Facebook or you can select other methods for sharing.  See below:

4.  If you want your boat name to appear as your Team Name instead of your real name, follow these additional steps:

                a.  Hover your mouse over your name in the top right corner of the webpage and select    "Account Settings".

                b.  Change your first and last name to your boat's name.  For Organized Chaos, I made my first  name "Organized" and last name "Chaos".  If your boat only has one word for its name,  enter   "Team" as the first name and "your boat name" as the last name.  This will show as "Team ***"   on the list of team members.

                c.  Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.  You will stay on this page after you click save.  To get back to the Team page click on "Your Fundraisers" near the top right corner of the  web page.


To donate to a specific team:
1. click the following link
2. select donate now

2. choose the amount of money you'd like to donate, select continue

3. Put in your payment information.
4. Select who you were referred by in order to donate to a specific team

5. Select Donate now.

The money you donate is assigned to the person you selected!
