MSSA Racing: Spring 1

Hello MSSA Members,

The first race of the spring season is Thursday. Some information:

-Race Committee is Osprey, John Jobst

-Start time is 1900.

-There will be two starts: Non spinnaker at 1905, Spinnaker at 1910

-I don't have a good feeling for turnout. Normally we have 4 divisions - A and B for spinnaker and C and D for non spinnaker. If the turnout is light I think we will have just 2 divisions. 

Lastly, the club race marks have not been placed yet. For the Barrister Cup I dropped a temporary mark at A. If we have West or East wind we will use government marks  G9 off rocky point or G11 off Mt. Misery Shoal. For a north or south wind we don't have a good option. We could drop another temporary mark 1-2 miles upwind / downwind from A but we don't have another temporary mark. There is an old mooring ball in the shed, but no anchor or rode. 

Any ideas?

Barry - Not sure about the other Divisions, but there's some hope that B-Division will have enough participation for a stand-alone Division.  The following boats may be racing with B-Division PHRF ratings; Anomaly, Harvest Moon, Osprey, Rode Runner, and ZARA.
