Dear MSSA Member,

As the sailing season is about to begin, we want to remind all MSSA members that we run a very robust racing program. Thursday is our usual race night, but we also have a weekend races, the Monday Night Double Handed Series, and a new "Navigators Pursuit Race Series". The MSSA endeavors to make racing your boat simple and easy. Every MSSA Member may sail their boat in any of our scheduled races. Never raced your boat? No worries, we set up the Navigator's Pursuit Race as an easy way for anyone to participate.

Why race?

Yacht racing at the club level is a great way to use your boat.  Sailboats from various manufacturers and performance levels can compete in a race, or series of races. Sailors who use their boats to compete in club races hone their sailing skills, becoming better sailors.  By having a set course, and measuring your performance against other boats, you learn how to get more out of your boat. The added benefit of using your boat with family and friends throughout the season means that come Fall, you will have many shared experiences on the water.

Want to race? It’s simple, we’ll get you set up with a PHRF Rating (Handicap) and fill you in on everything you to know about racing with the MSSA. Email us at sco...@mssa.org

MSSA Race Scoring and Handicap Committee:
