Success on the water in Western Long Island Sound comes down to understanding how the wind actually behaves, not just what the forecast says.
Meteorologist and lifelong sailor Chelsea Freas of SeaTactics will break down the key drivers of LIS conditions, including sea breezes and big picture winds, the influence of local geography, and how to read clouds and developing thunderstorms for real time decision making. You’ll learn how these pieces fit together, why the wind often behaves differently than expected in LIS, and how to anticipate those changes before they happen.
The session will also walk through a simple, repeatable process for building a basic forecast and turning it into a clear, practical plan for your time on the water.
Designed for sailors of all levels, this webinar focuses on real world application, helping you make more confident decisions whether you’re racing, cruising, or just getting out for a weeknight sail.
