If you're a casual racer.
If you had fun participating in our Navigator races.
If you're a dedicated cruiser.
Even if you just want to spend a nice day on the water sailing around some buoys.
Perfect Timing will be the Race Official for tomorrow's race. Please consider joining us for our 2nd race in this year's Fall Series races.
These are our Jackrabbit Races; other clubs call them Pursuit Races. In these races, you start on your own. That's right - No jammed starting lines, no jockeying for position, no fear of being yelled at, no chance of looking bad as you cross the starting line, and as an additional bonus - No time limit to worry about. Each boat starts at a pre-determined time, based on their PHRF rating and the course picked for the day (long or short). This is nicely outlined in our yearbook, starting on page 41.
Here's some pre-race information. We start at our buoy 'M', and finish at 'S' (which is 'M' when there is no Committee Boat on station - see page 31 in our yearbook). Race instructions will be broadcast on VHF-72 before the start of our clock, which will be at 10:00 A.M. (GPS), if the wind cooperates. Please check in prior to 10:00 A.M. so we can provide our scorers with all the names of the boats that participated. After you complete the course, you must announce your finish time on channel 72, and also send it to our scorers (sco...@mssa.org) so they can score the race. Remember, there is no time limit for these races, so you don't have to feel guilty about keeping a Committee Boat on station waiting for you to finish. If you decide not to complete the course, please also let our scorers know.
