The July 2019 MSP Audio Geeks meetup is this Monday! We wanted to pass on some additional information. Please RSVP if you're planning to attend.
This event will be a swap meet! If you have gear that you are looking to re-home - even if it needs repair - feel free to offer it up. All gear swap terms are to be determined directly by the individuals involved. If you bring something that doesn't have a new owner at the end of the night you may choose to donate it to the HTC Audio Production program. Please check with Matt if it is something they could use. Gear donations are eligible for a tax-deductible donation.
Thanks also to
Roll Music Systems for providing some tasty eats for us! Justin will also be available to answer questions about troubleshooting gear that may be in need of repair. He'll also be showcasing a PACE desoldering system.
About the HTC Audio Production program:
The Audio Production program at Hennepin Technical College has been training audio professionals for over 25 years and offers an AAS degree and Diploma. The facilities offer 7 full production studios and 18 DAW workstations. As part of the MinnState education system, the Audio Production program offers some of the lowest tuition in the State, while maintaining small class/lab sizes, and up to date equipment/gear. Matt Holmes has been a full-time faculty member for 13 years, along with studio manager/lab assistance Mike Byrne. Matt also is an engineer at Wild Sound Recording Studio in northeast Minneapolis.
A bit about Roll Music Systems:
Roll Music Systems is a small Minneapolis company specializing in analog gear that brings big-studio sound to smaller studios, including the Folcrom passive summing device and a line of all-tube 500-series modules. They also design products for other manufacturers and consult for studio installations around the world.
