I'm an audio engineer and sound designer at HDMG (http://hdmg.com/), a
post-production house. I came up through the music industry, working
in various recording studios but have loved working in the audio post
realm. I'm currently mixing the documentary Of Dolls and Murder:

Curious to hear about what other people are involved in!

I'm an audio engineer too, what a coincidence! I do lots of stuff,
love to record live ensembles, produce, mix, master, etc. I teach at
IPR, write for MIX magazine, fix and build gear, microphones, speaker
systems.

My company is called Manhattan Sound Technicians inc 651-554-0304

My website is over 15 years old http://www.tangible-technology.com/

My current goal is to finish a mic preamp design to be sold as a kit
to other schools, DIY'ers and even built.

I am learning to play mandolin, can kinda play trombone...

My dream is to build a simple disc cutting lathe.

I have worked or recorded at the following studios: Bearsville,
Record Plant NYC, Atlantic, Electric Lady, Skyline, Nola.

Sound creative and dadman. Straddling between audio post and music
work.

Pajama Recording Studio, Oakland, CA; Mr. E's Jazz Club (Pete
Escovedo's joint), Berkeley, CA; Angel Beach Studios, MPLS (yikes!);
HDMG, Eden Prairie, MN; Splice, MPLS. Most of my music recording/
mixing days are long gone - Dazy Head Mazy, Fade2Shade, Down And
Above, Skywind, The Steeles, to name a few acts I've worked with.
Recent acts I've worked with include Hunter(HERO) and Battlefish
(tentative name).

Focus is now mostly on sound for film, broadcast, and games.

Supervising Sound Editor on Storyforge Films' "Ana's Playground": won
4 Oscar-qualifying film festivals, mixed with Gary Rizzo (The Dark
Knight, Hellboy, How To Train Your Dragon) at Skywalker Sound; Other
sound for picture work includes "Resonance: The Odyssey of The Bells"
by Paul Creager (Sup. Sound Editor, Re-recording Mixer), Committee
Films' "The Holy Grail In America" for the History Channel (SSE, RRM),
Worhle Productions' "Pride of Lions" (DIA editor), short films "Der
Hund", "Yummy Girl".

Current projects include Committee Films' "America BC" for The History
Channel (SSE, RRM), Kiernan Productions' "Stuck Between Stations", and
"Good Morning Beautiful", a short film by Todd Cobery.

I enjoy warm nights, good beer, nay, GREAT beer, and listening to
things. I wish I was a circuit bender because I have a Stylophone
that is begging to be bent.

Glad this group has been started!

I guess I'm your average, every day, run-of-the-mill, audio nerd.
There is nothing I love more than a good null test... other than maybe
a good null test and some Sam Adams. I record, I produce, I mix, I
enjoy. Lately I've been doing the modern country music thing.
Country, Country Rock, Country Pop, Garbage... whatever you want to
call it, that's what I do! Really glad to be a part of all this!

Audio Engineer/Producer/Teacher/Dude...roughly in that order. I have
given up my belief in gear when it comes to making good music. I'm
more into the songs and performances (people). That little rant being
said, I fucking love cool gear and I am very honored to be part of
such a cool group of people. I teach at MMI (Minneapolis Media
Institute in the old Flyte Tyme Building) in Edina, MN but would much
rather be in a studio. I have work at studios like Master Mix (SSL),
Winterland (API), Fuzzy Slippers (Pro Control), A440 (SSL), Underwood
(Harrison) and countless bedrooms, practice spaces, apartments,
houses.......holes! I grew up in South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale) and
miss my family and friends, but don't miss the humidity. I record
Rock, Hip-Hop, Punk, Folk, and whatever else you got. Just make sure
you bring the heat (just not the humidity)! My rig is based around a
Signature Series Black Lion Modded 002 Pro Tools LE system. I have a
few cool mics, outboards doodads, mixers, plugins, speakers,
instruments, and stories. Plus any excuse to drink beer is gotta be
cool.

Hi, all.  I've mainly been involved in post for the past 10 years in Mpls and Boston and am currently at HDMG.  I find myself doing lots of editing, sound design, recording and mixing for all types of projects.  (TV, radio, web, film, corporate, installation, etc)  And, like most other audio people (I'm assuming), I always have pet projects going.  (Random music stuff, designs for graphics/animation pieces, or recording my infants while they're sleeping....they're so loud!)

Hey Y'all,

I go by JD. I TA at MMI. You could say I'm here to learn, trying to surround myself with the people who can enlighten me. I do some tracking, a little mixing, my primary focus is business; building the right relationships to accomplish whatever. I love real estate and finance is one of my favorite past times. Go figure. I'm down with the nerdy stuff too, I love gear! Microphones and preamps especially.

All the best,
JD

Hey guys. My name is Justin Jordan. I'm pretty new to the audio
industry. I go to Masters Recording (now MMI) where I'm taught by the
best. I got into audio for all the wrong reasons, but I'm growing to
love it for the right ones. I'm hooked man! I'm a singer/song writer
and I play a little guitar and bass. I'm really just trying to let
life take me for a ride and every now and then I grab the steering
wheel. Right now I'm working on finding an internship at a studio so
if you guys know of anyone looking please let me know. Rock on!
