Brief Description
- A BigID Engineer specializes in deploying, configuring, and managing the BigID data intelligence platform to discover, classify, and protect structured and unstructured data across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA) and enhance data governance by developing automation scripts, custom connectors, and API integrations, typically requiring 3+ years of experience in data security or privacy.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Deployment & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain BigID solutions, including scanners, classifiers, and data connectors.
Data Discovery & Classification: Implement policies to identify, map, and classify sensitive data (PII, PHI) across diverse storage systems (cloud, SaaS, databases).
Governance & Compliance: Align data protection strategies with regulatory frameworks like GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
Automation & Integration: Develop custom workflows, API integrations, and scripts (e.g., Python) to enhance performance and automate data governance tasks.
Integrate BigID with enterprise security tools such as:
• SIEM platforms
• Data governance tools
• Identity management systems
• Ticketing systems
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Resolve platform performance issues, tune classification accuracy, and manage system updates.
Collaboration: Work with security, privacy, and IT teams to implement data protection controls and generate compliance reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency with BigID platform capabilities, including cataloging, policy creation, and API usage.
- Cloud Proficiency: Strong understanding of cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Azure.
- Data Security Knowledge: Data classification techniques, Sensitive data discovery, Regex, ML-based pattern generation
Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Understanding of compliance and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Technical Skills: Experience with Linux, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and SQL/NoSQL databases.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
