Corel takes a lot of system RAM, and it may be that with your other open
programs and TSR's that the RAM is too stretched to open it.

Try this, Hilight the file, right click Save As, to your desktop. Click
Start/Programs/Accessories/Paint
Click File/Open, change 'Files of Type' to 'All Files', and navigate to the
desktop, and open the file in Paint.

For what its worth, I got rid of Corel Photopaint, in favour of Paintshop
Pro.
