Hey Everyone!

I am a CS Student at the university and have been a Linux user for
quite a few years. I didn't realize there was a LUG in the area and am
interested in attending future meetings.

Outside of Facebook and the mailing list I didn't find anything with
meeting schedules. Can anyone direct me to some more information?

Welcome Benjamin, and, I'm *really* sorry your post didn't get
forwarded to the list until just now. I think I'm the only one around
still with any access to the list management (and I'm not flagged as
an owner so I can't add other managers or anything).

And to respond to your question about a calendar - I previously had
maintained one, but do not any longer as I don't have the time, and,
I'm not even in Missoula anymore (work has forced me to move out to
Seattle) so I don't attend the meetings either.

Hopefully someone else will chime in with some information for you on
current meeting schedules/calendars/whatever.

We don't have a calendar, but meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of every month, 7pm, at the Missoula Public Library in the makerspace room. We seldomly deviate from this, as we did last night, and in that case the change is noted here on this list at a minimum, and ideally on the fb page as well.

It was good to see you at the meeting yesterday, and I hope to see you again at future meetings. We should talk HPC some time soon.

Yeah, but they can of course always just sign up on their own as well,

Thanks for the info! I apologize for the delay, my family and I spent
the weekend in Rock Creek camping.

I've marked the days on the calendar and look forward to regular
attendance. Send me an email if you would like to meet up sometime to
talk specifically about HPC.

If we are up for requests I would like to learn more about cgroups.
They have been in the kernel since 2.6 and they seem like a nifty
tool. Outside nice I haven't had much exposure to kernel based
queuing/scheduling and resource control. Has anyone had any exposure
or use cases in this area? With the advent of another init system,
systemd, this has become relevant as systemd utilizes cgroups.

lack of spam. Google groups could do a better job of letting a user
