As you know, we experienced a magnitude 4.3 earthquake yesterday at about
11.30 am. I was teaching at that time, and there was some initial panic when all the students rushed to the door after feeling the shakes, but later on all students and staff (including those of Moonbeam) were safely evacuated to the football field.
Because the epicentre was in ZJ, the county govt was very concerned. All of yesterday afternoon, no one was allowed back in the buildings or the dorms.
Students were only allowed to go to the canteen for meals, and to go back to their rooms to get more clothes because it started raining rather heavily.
This morning all felt better and are less worried. The director talked to the students to reassure them that all is ok, and sent them home for now.
Classes will resume on 20 Oct.
We are ok in the town area but we heard that 17 houses in the villages have collapsed. Please remember the victims and their families, and the hospital staff caring for them.
The team feels safe in His care. Stephen (7 years old) said that when the earthquake happened, many of the children were very scared in his school.
When asked if he was scared he said no, because he has Ye-su. PTL!
