There was no demand. I was reviewing some songs composed by Shyamal Mitra, and felt like translating this soulful song.

The best song of Shyamal Mitra in my opinion (in Hindi) would be "Saara pyaar tumhaara maine baandh liya hain aanchal mein" (Anand Aashram)

Somehow, I'm not a big fan of Kishore's low range singing here..("toda..") Our addiction to Yesudas's bass may be a reason..

Isn't Shyamal Mitra renowned Bengali composer? I have read something here and there about him. But haven't got a chance to listen to many of his songs..

Yes, Shyamal Mitra is known as a renowned composer in Bengali. He was also a fine singer during the period 1950-1970.
