Song: Koi humdum na raha
Movie: Jhumroo (1961)
Singer: Kishore Kumar
Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri
Music: Kishore Kumar

kya bataaoon main kahaan yun hi chala jaata hoon
jo mujhe phir se bula le woh ishaara na raha
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No soulmate exists anymore, nor does any support
I've ceased to belong to anybody
And none belong with me

In this lonesome evening
How do I attain my destination?
The one star who would show me my path
Is no longer around

O these sights, do not laugh at me
No more any rendezvous with you
You could never be mine
And I 'm no longer yours

I do not know where I am
I just keep on moving
The one who would call me back
Is no longer with me

Only got to listen to this now. I am so sad! It creates that sad, melancholy, lost feeling!  Thank you for opening the door to understanding the words.

Let me go and listen to something cheerful - the day is just beginning.

Sorry VMK ji.. I never intended to make anybody sad... Remember, I said once that

"Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought".

"Mujhe thum se kuch bhi na chaahiye" is also a very sad song...

Thanks Suresh..

When you hear Kishor's songs like these, you wonder whether it is the same person who has sung so many jovial/adipoli songs as well..

Similarly for many RDB's songs..

Thanks,
Vikas

Kishore Kumar has said in many an interview that he preferred to sing melancholic songs.
