Greetings!

We have a game-filled week ahead!

Of first importance, our team will attend the tournament at Lakeland Union High School in Menaqua, WI on Saturday, 9/16.

Please reply to this message if your player needs a ride or if you have open seats so we can help everyone get to the games.

We'll send another message soon to coordinate a trunk lunch, where each family brings an ingredient that players use to make a lunch.

It looks like most families are driving down and back on Saturday, so we won't have group hotel reservations.

Here's information from a previous message, so you don't have to look for it...

Our team would play two games, and the first game is 10:30 a.m. Central Time. It takes about 3 hours to get there, so families should be able to leave Marquette around  7 a.m. and get there an hour before the game for warm up. These are the directions from last year:

Fields are 7-9 minutes away from Lakeland High School.
(9573 State Hwy 70, Minocqua , WI 54548)

Monday, 9/11 (tomorrow or today, depending on when you read this :) ), Cris Osier is bringing a team dinner after practice. She is planning on pre-sauced spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread. If there are any allergies, please contact us or Cris. I think this is at the pavilion at the practice fields. (Please let me know if I'm wrong, or if there's more info to share.) Thank you, Cris!!

Tuesday, 9/12, we have a home game against Copper Country Christian at 6 p.m. That means arrival time is probably 5 p.m. for warm ups. Wear white for home game again.

Thursday, 9/14, our troopers hop on a bus at the MSHS canopy to head to Iron Mountain for an game at 3 p.m. Central / 4 p.m. Eastern. This should be our free bus trip, but send some money with the boys, because they usually stop for food. If you'd like to ride the bus. too, contact Amy Niemi. However, there may not be room, because the varsity team is sharing the bus with them on this trip. The varsity game follows the JV game, so the bus will return a little later than if JV were playing alone.

Iron Mountain is about 90 minutes from Marquette.

Our current schedule says that players will be dismissed at the 5th bell, board the bus at 12:45 p.m., and leave at 1 p.m. However, there was a question about whether this boarding time is too early. It would get them to Iron Mountain an hour and a half before the game. If there are any changes, we'll let you know.

If you want to drive...
Iron Mountain is about 90 minutes away.

The address is

2000 Pyle Drive, Iron Mountain, MI 49801

Our week is gamey, but we don't need to smell that way! :)

Hello....so having never done this team meal thing before, I will have the dinner at the Kaufman field pavilion. We will be ready to serve for 6:45/7:00, assuming practice is the normal 5:30-7pm. I didn't hear back about food allergies or a request for meatless sauce so I'm going with meat. Fingers crossed my google search of "how to feed a crowd" has the correct suggested amount. ha!

Thank you for the informative email, Mark. Busy but fun week. I'll know more about the Saturday game tonight.

Thanks, Cris for doing this dinner.  Just an FYI there is a varsity game tonight from 6-8pm at the lower field, so may be busy.  But I think it should work out overall fine!
