Is there any work being done to facilitate editing a 2d graph (i.e. warmup, ASE, etc). My finger is about 20% of the total graph on my Samsung SGS3 and dragging the curve around does not yield good results. I cannot figure out how to type in a value or to increment the value. The volume control may be one way to do this. Another is to have an arrow set (up/dn or up/dn/lt/rt) on the scale. Helpful would be to show the actual value you are adjusting

I love that I do not need the computer to tune MS but would like to be able to edit the 2d graphs more precisely. I don't care if it is presented as a 2 column list or as a graph, but being able to adjust the y values up/down is the priority, right/left (x axis) is secondary.

Keep up the great work!

Keith

I, too, was feeling the lack of being able to type in a number - actually, that may already be on the list. Certainly dragging the graph lines is a huge step up, but for instance - getting my idle valve just right has to have >1% accuracy.

Similarly, the fuel/ignition tables need a set of +.1/+1/+5 buttons

Hi Keith and Abe,

Thanks for the feedback. I'll work on much improving the curve and table editors very shortly. What I'm doing now is going through final testing so I can finally get V2 formally released on Play (because it's long overdue) and then I'll work through these issues. I'll add your comments to the issue tracker I already have open covering this.

In the meantime any further comments and ideas about precisely how you'd like to be able to use the table and curve editors would be really useful.

Cheers,

Trev

Hmmm. My thoughts:

When editing, the dialog should  shift left (maybe leave the carat so showing so it can be used as a 'back button') and the graph should fill the screen.
Update: I just tried it in portrait mode and that is how it works... (D'oh). I never tried it in portrait mode as it is always in my car dock and I have always used it in landscape mode.I guess, the first bit is to make the editing display work the same way in portrait and landscape mode.

For editing a table, one way I have thought about it:
If you made the previous/next point buttons half their width, and have up, down, right, left arrows  bust to the left of that which can increment the x,y value of the point you are editing and use the next/previous to go to the next point.

Another way is to use next/prev to select a point. have a 'select button' which when pressed  would open a text box with the current x and Y values which could be typed into to edit that point...

Another way is to use the volume up/down for changing Y value and only allow editing the X value in TS...

Lets discuss this and see what the others would like. I had to fire up TS to get my MAT correction table edited this morning, but this would be a nice improvement.

...and my post is now lost from the thread. Keith, perhaps post this on the MS forums, so it's all in one place and more people can have input?

Actually, I did not know where to post this to have a chance at some sort of input in the design. I have not been to the MS forum for a long time. Kind of got tired of it and the politics. Feel free to put it there and use it as you want. I just want it thought through by more than just me. This is the biggest issue I have had with the program so far.
I've noticed that the speedometer does not use MPH/KPH convention as set, but always reports that it ti KPH when it is calibrated in MPH. but that is not a deal killer.

The forums are fine as long add u don't talk about the ms people or product. :-) they leave the MSDroid section alone and I'd suggest using it, even as someone whom gets in fights with James et al. :-)

Sent from my smartphone, please excuse brevity and Swype-o's. Thanks!

I believe the speedometer to work for me. It's within 1 or 2 mph.

It works just fine (I am using the shaft speed sensor) and is quite accurate, but the digital gage says KPH and not MPH...

If you're going 10 mph, your gauge reads 10 kph?

Oh! Ok. I think I saw that too, but I'll admit I was so distracted by seeing the right number I ignored that little detail. I think you're right though. Next time I'm out (could be a while) I'll check.
