Dear friends,

I have received an email from the university that says they will
provide us shared apartments in which we could have our single rooms.
It is good, but we need to reserve the rooms from September which
means we will have to pay a little extra money. But it doesn't matter,
is it?

I send the email to let you know we now could ask them to reserve the
rooms for us. And I would like to say that if it is possible, we
classmates would be better be arranged in the same apartments which
would be better for our future study and life. So please let me know
who will be willing to share the apartment with me.

I would like to introduce myself first, haha! I am Fan Kai from China,
my major in Huaqiao University is Civil Engineering and I could speak
a little German, not fluently though. I like swimming and playing
basketball- I was the teamleader in my Civil Engineering College, I
also like pop musik, NBA and football-although I don't play football.
I am outgoging and I could cook good Chinese dishes. I also know a
little about medicine which would be helpful if any of my roomie is
ill... And blablalba,haha~~~

Best wishes~

regards
Fan

Dear future classmates,

I have already receivede the letter from Mr Rau, and I agree with Fan,
that it would be good to be together in a flat due to the future
studies... :-)
I don`t know how many rooms are in a flat, and whether all of the
rooms are single. I know that we don`t know each other personally, but
it would be quite cool to share the flat, and don`t share it with real
strangers...

What do you think?

And how urgent to reply to Mr Rau by the way?

Bye,
Nora

Hi all!

I think the first step to do is that we must get confirmation from the
dorms on who will get the room....

Then we can send email to the dormitory's office if we could stay in
the same cluster / flat...?

I think that we should share room (not YOU and ME :D ) but we all (me and
other classmates) so if you have any offers inform me please! I am the one
who will share the room with everyone from our class without questions.

Dear friends ,

I copy the letter of Dr. Rau below due to the convenience of  Hannes Luts & Lykourgos Tsirigotis. However , I think you should personally e-mail him about this .

about the offer :

I think its a flexible offer as they will fix up all the things for us . rent is bit up of the limit I was looking , however , after considering everything I decided to take it.

Fan , Nora and Vytautas Pranckus:

Same in opinion . It will be more comfortable to share apartments with our classmates.

Emmy :

I think these dorms are also from M S N  and probably first we need to sent our consent to Dr. Rau that we intend to take it .

Best regards -

Dear students of the new intake MSc. Transportation Systems,

We hope your preparations for your studies in Munich are running smoothly.

Today we contact you regarding the accommodation in Munich. The administration office of the student dormitories for Heiglhofstr. and Stiftsbogen (we have good experiences with them) informed us that they have rooms available if they are taken from 1st September onwards and that we could reserve it for our students. They have no rooms from 1st October, which means students would be placed on the waiting list.

It is very difficult to find affordable accommodation in Munich in general and especially around the beginning of the winter semester. If you accept a recommendation, we would suggest that you rent a room from the 1st Sept. onwards and agree to rent the room before your arrival. In this way you would have the accommodation solved and can start your studies smoothly.

The procedure would be as following: We will give the administration office of the dormitories your name and email and they write back to you with a reservation that you can confirm. The room will be allotted beginning of August. The amount of 1st rent and deposit (ca. 350€ - € 560) has to be transferred to them beginning of August. The rooms are single rooms in shared apartments with kitchen and bathroom. The monthly rent is about 290€ depending on the size of the rooms.

If this is an acceptable solution for you, please let us know as soon as possible. If you agree, we would ask, however, that you remain committed to taking the room. A room in the dormitories can be cancelled anytime with the legal notice of 3 months. An alternative is also to make a rent contract for one year only. We know the dorms personally because some of our students from the intake of last year live in Heiglhofstr/Stiftsbogen. Both dorms are conveniently located to underground stations and it takes ca. 30 min to reach the campus.

Please note that we do not know the exact number of available rooms yet, but it is sure that it won´t be enough for all of our students. Thus, we will follow the principle: first come, first serve!

Best regards,

Andreas Rau

Hi Everyone

The option sent by Studentenwerk is not a bargain but a good deal,
there are several options in those 2 locations:

Stiftsbogen: It is the closest one, about 7 to 9 km away from TUM,
check pics on:

http://www.studentenwerk-muenchen.de/wohnen/wohnanlagen_des_studentenwerks_muenchen/muenchen/muenchen_suedwest/stiftsbogen/

Heighofstrasse: Its a little further from TUM, I would say 10km for
more info:

http://www.studentenwerk-muenchen.de/wohnen/wohnanlagen_des_studentenwerks_muenchen/muenchen/muenchen_suedwest/heiglhofstrasse/

Both of them close to U6 or U3 metrolines within Inner-ring, I think
we depend on Studentenwerke to assign rooms as they will do when we
reply affirmatively to Prof. Rau mail.

I agree on the idea of getting a couple flats for all of us, (I think
both residences offer flats) that will ease afterclass study,!!!!

C yaaaa

Hi,
   Dear Classmates,
It will be really cool experience to live together,as mentioned by Shan,Nora,Emmy,Pranckus and chaklader. It will really help us all to adjust easily at the dormitories. Also as Ceaser mentioned that these dormitories are  just 8 to 10 km away from TUM campus.its also good for us.This idea; of getting couple of apartments  together is really great.Who ever gets an offer/confirmation from the dormitory should post his/her status on the group so that we send e-mail to the dormitory's office for lending us a couple of apartments together.
It  will be fantastic and our accommodation problem will be solved,if we get apartments together.I hope that we all

Thanks to all for sharing valuable information and fruitful thoughts...........

Hi,

that`s really cool that you agree to live togehter in flats... :-)

Soo... what is the next step? Should we just write an email to Mr Rau,
or for the Studentenwerk, or do we need to register somewhere? (Maybe
these are silly questions, and you have already known the answer... so
in this case sorry for my questions, but i don`t want to miss the
opportunity :-) )

Hi verybody,
As Nora said, I think it would be a good idea that we classmates
arrange to get accommodation together in a flat.
But the problem is how to do this?
As I understood, it is a hard work to understand who is going to get
the flat, according to the fact that some of our classmates have not
gotten their visa and also according to the short time we have; The
property will be allotted begin of Aug.
Therefor, I think it is better that we request Dr. Rau to ask them
arrange the T.S students (who have applied for these two choices
personally) together in a flat.
If we request it from Dr. Rau person by person, it will work.
However, there are two greater problems.
Firstly, the rooms are going to be rented from September 1st and it is
extremely early.( for example, my ticket to Germany is on Sep. 29th)
Secondly, many students have applied for the SERVICE PACKAGE. As you
know, the result of this application will be clear begin of Aug.
Therefor, if somebody wants to wait for the SERVICE PACKAGE, s/he will
lose the opportunity to apply for the so called appartments, what
should such a person(like me) do then?
I will be grateful to anyone who comments on my opinion and answers my
questions.
Reagards,
Motahari

I suggest that we apply for a place first, then we can contact the Studentwerken to ask them to do us a favor. As they have said, there won't be that many rooms available. So let's register our names in the list first. And when it is certain we can get rooms, then we can still do a lot of things.

Keep in touch! And if I have any further news, I will contact you guys~

Best wishes!

dear friends
I have wrote for Dr. Rau and ask him to request the administration
office of suggested dormitories to locate us close to each other and
if possible in one apartment.
I told him that this is the wish of many of us and we decided to ask
him person by person. As Mr. motahari, my suggestion is to ask Dr. Rau
person by person that I did it.

Moreover, if any of you wants to share a flat, then contact me and we
will apply for flats via the links that other friends have suggested.
Wish you the best.

Deadline for the payment of tuition fees is September 15th.
By the way, is there anybody who gets his/her tuition fees paid by an employer? It might be my case if I provide an invoice. Any idea where I should ask for an invoice? I sent an email to the student service but I'm not sure I made myself clear as one usually needs to pay first to get an invoice...

Dear friends;
Any suggestion for the current offer of apartment?
I have received an E-Mail that offer me an apartment in a dormitory of
“Studentenwerk” – the administration of dorms in Munich, which the
dorm is located at the stop underground U6 – Studentenstadt Freimann.
I have applied for service package too and this is my first interest,
but we don't know the result of that by now.
What should I do while they have written that the deadline for accept
or reject the offer is July 30th.
I'm confused and don't know weather to accept this offer or not. It's
from October 1st but probably I arrive to Munich on September 15th..
Has anyone like Mr. motahari and me got the same offer by E-Mail?

Hi All,

I have not got any email in connection with dormitory... So that means
I won't get it?

On my TUM account I have the 542 Euro-tuiton fee. I think I will
transfer the money tomorrow. And in fact I won't bother whether it is
Aug. 15 or Sept. 15... :-P 'Cause I have these too deadlines too...

By the way do you have any news about the flatrenting?

Bye

Nora

Dear All,

I have a question: does anybody know from you what is the
matriculation number? We need that for the tuiton fee transfer. The
only number I found on my TUM account was the application number. Is
it the same?

Thank you for your answer.

Bye

Hello, Nori Szabo,

My status of tumonline is same as yours. My friend said that my application has not completed. I remenber I did't click SEND Button and I asked Dr. Rau. He said he has not received any information about tuition. So I think it doesn't matter.

Sincerely

LI Wei

Hey friends,

how are your visa preparations and accommodation search going.?..i haven't
got any reply from studentenwerk dorms till now. i think this may be due
to the fact that these dormitories reply individually to the students
applying there i.e both wei li and mohsen might have got into the same
dorm (Studentenstadt Freimann) wei li please confirm.!!..

AND NORA
as for your question, i think both of them are the same. In our TUM
online account it is mentioned in last option(purpose) of tuition fee
status. "Purpose MTK 03615426, Singh, Akshay, 10W". so this 03615426 is
my registration no. and MTK might stand for Matriculation no(german
c=k)..:)

take care
Akshay

Hi all,

Does anyone else still have red "Xes" as opposed to green check marks
beside some of the documents under the heading "Documents stated herein
must be included in your application." This heading is found under
"Applications" then under status and "view."

Similarily, and probably as a consequence of the above, I still have a
question mark as opposed to a green check mark under Enrolled. I still
have to pay, but I'm quite sure all those documents I mentioned above must
have a check mark as well, before Enrolled gets a green check mark. I
imagine that won't happen until getting there.

Lastly, does anyone actually know the date that we are required to be
there. I can't, for the life of me, find an actual date anywhere. I know
that the semester starts the 1st of Oct, but according to the
Zulassungsbescheid (Admission Letter) the lectures only start the 18th.
Thanks for any input!

Simon

Hello Smueller,

I have also this problem in my TUM-account. I have asked Dr. Rau, but he didn't mention how I can do later. I think we can only solve the problem after arrival.

I think it doesn't matter that we arrive in Munich after 1 Oct. A friend of mine will go there on 10th Oct. But I will go Munich on 28th Sep, for I want to visit Munich and comfirm the Visa, Insurence and Banking Account.

Hi Simon and Wei,

I also have the same problem with you. All documents have red mark and there is a question mark on the Enrollment status.
I email Dr. Rau about this and he says it is okay we will resolve this when I am in TU later. Hence, i think we don't have to worry too much about it.

They did not ask me to pay the school fee tho..

I also cannot find when is the exact date we need to arrive in Munich... I guess as long as we settle all the administrative stuffs before the lecture starts on 17th Oct, then we shud be fine :)

Hi Simon and Wei,

I emailed the TUM Service Desk <it-su...@tum.de> with the proof of the Zulassungbeschied.

They corrected the admission status for me and now mine looks like this. Can you see the screenshot here?
I am now officially admitted to the program! Yay!

Hi All,
now I see my applicant account again and I also have the same problem: this "?" under the enrolled status. But nobody had mentioned it before if it would be a problem. I have the letter of admission, so I hope this is just a formal thing...

Relative to the documents we ought to attach: Mr Rau said they need official, authenticated copies, and it is enough to give it when we are in Munich. Soo I think some formal lines like this '?' enrolled is just a formal thing.

Hope to see u soon and nobody loose his way in this labyrinth... haha

p.s.: I still have not known anything about the accomodation... oughh

Bye

Nora
