Congrads Roshana!

Also appreciate if you can write about how you got it (any specific formalities to be completed) or any bottlenecks you had. I got mine long back so forgot it.

If not Roshana, any one of you in the list if you underwent any procedures please share it for the benefit of others.

Regards,
Franklin

Actually, I did not do anything from my side recently.

Only almost some 10 months back, I had called the university a few times and asked for the details about my certificates.

But did not get a great response. Now thankfully, all of a sudden received the certificate.

Others who are still waiting for the certificates, i think visiting the university in person with all the necessary/related documents(certificates and fee payment receipts) and ID card is the better solution.

One important tip to everyone yet to complete the course, Please save ALL payment receipts you have done to the university, right from the first enrollment to the last one we pay for provisional certificate and degree certificate including tuition/exam fee receipts. For some of them who went to ask for the certificate they indicated pending fee payment. So if we have to go and ask for the degree certificate we might have to present any of them for their reference.

Hope the information is useful.

Regards

Rosh

hi thiis is mohan(2007-09) batch,

i too completed my course at dec2009 exam, but
i received my provisional and degree certificate in early 2012 after paying Rs.6000/-
because they lost my 2nd year fees bill, it was not entered in system also. i loo lost my student copy while im working in school hostel, they said no way u have to pay 2nd year fees as well as Rs.1000/- per year as breakage fine. From that i have diceided not to study any course in madras university IDE.

so juniors be carefull with your bills and chalan, rite from joining till u get ur certificate.

ALL THE VERY BEST.

Hey Mohan,

Sorry to read your plight. Yes one gets vexed to the core in instances like this. Better to keep everything intact, the University sends us. At least be glad that you could get your degree after all the pains. You may also want to let them know your grievances through a mail or letter to the VC, CoE, Registrar, etc. Hope anyone might look into this and make sure subsequent batches won't suffer like this.

Thanks for sharing the information anyway!

Regards,
Franklin

Yes it even raises a question about their accounting and book keeping practices. Probably one might want to file a RTI for this from the University or government.

Hi group,

Am from the 2009 batch (completed n passed out) but I was marked ab in an exam that I wrote for my second year finals, only to discover that I had scored 78 !!

When I went to clarify, they asked me to get the hall ticket n get the acknowledgement paper that the invigilator carriers in which we sign dig during the exam. How on earth am I supposed to have that???

Further, for the degree to reach I had to push matters to the higher ups, left to them I would've never seen it. It was sitting tight in their files without being mailed out or posted.

Anything is possible at the good ol' IDE of Madras University!!!

Best wishes,
Nandini

Hi

Even I went thro' lot of hassles, and had to pay the convocation fee twice before I could finally get my certificate 2 yrs after I passed and ofcourse after lot of follow ups and escalations. Pathetic would be the right word to describe the IDE administration. Though one might be happy seeing the course list made available thro' IDE, the pain in getting the certificate really makes us think twice before deciding to do a course via Madras Univ IDE. In this age of technology advancements, it really hurts to see how backward the university is!

Thanks
Sruthi
