Call for abstract
Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS) in association with Center of Research for Environment Energy and Water (CREEW) and The Small Earth Nepal (SEN) are organizing the Second National Symposium on Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Management of Groundwater Resources of the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal on 22 March to commemorate Nepal National Water Week 2011. The main objective of this symposium is to provide a platform to learn, debate and share knowledge on quantitative, qualitative, management, and legislative issues of surface water and ground water, and impact of global change on water resources of Nepal.
Interested scholars are requested to submit their research abstract on the following issues of water:
- Quantitative issues of groundwater in Kathmandu Valley
- Qualitative issues of groundwater in Kathmandu Valley
- Urban Water Management community/ agency level
- Water Quality of Urban Rivers
- Water Environment of Urban Rivers
- Policy, Law and Institutional framework
- Impact of global change on water resources of Nepal
Important dates
Abstract submission : By 28 February 2011
Notification of acceptance : By 5 March 2011
Submission of full paper : 5 March – 15 March 2011
National symposium : 22 March 2011
