thanks for testing out the program, sorry to bog you down with
emails. from now on, all emails will go to msatcommander-
dis...@googlegroups.com. you can join the group if you want to get
the updates via email...
i posted a new windows version of the program to the web and changed
the link (clicking on this one should always get you the most current
version):
http://gallus.forestry.uga.edu/software/msatcommander/msatcommander-
WINXP-current.zip
be forewarned that when google straightens out the issues on their
end, i will likely post stable versions to:
http://code.google.com/p/msatcommander/
now, on to the good stuff...
changes:
1. no more spacing issues with excel!
2. changed the fasta-reading function to something different - to
help with some other problems. this uses a development (cvs) version
of biopython which appears stable enough...
3. fixed? the window height in the main window
*Note*: the new fasta reader WILL remove additional words in the
fasta filename, so if your sequence name is something like:
>gi|42495666|gb|AY523003.1| Colinus virginianus clone A-9F
microsatellite sequence
the program will keep everything up to the first space... so you get:
>gi|42495666|gb|AY523003.1|
in the output CSV file. if you need a species name in there, just
use pipes w/o spaces or an underscore or something, like:
>CcP2M4A12|ColinusVirginianus
as your clone name.
enjoy.
cheers,
b
