Bismillah
As salaam 'alaikum
As the hurricane ravaged NYC a few nights ago, giant trees were toppled over, people died, cars and houses were crushed and/or flooded. In the wake of such a crisis, we are a trial for each other. Who will be patient, and who will help their brothers and sisters in need? There are some people whose whole livelihood has been destroyed, and others who have been left with everything in tact. Let those of us who have been blessed with everything put ourselves in the place of someone else who is feeling helpless right now, let us show our gratitude to Allah swt by helping humanity locally. There is a treasure trove of hasannat for everyone out there right now. Please do what you can from the list below and try to stay updated thru fb/texts inshAllah.
May Allah swt purify our intentions and accept this from us. Ameen. May Allah swt make easy the affairs of those who lost a lot in this crisis, give them patience, and give them better than what they had before. Ameen. Allahumma Ameen.
JazakumAllahu Khair

Our local evacuation shelter is at PS 249 (Caton at Marlborough), and we’ve heard they have as many volunteers as evacuees at the moment.
