Sisters: Please join your sisters for a short presentation and discussion.
Brothers:Come give us advice on what you want to do in future halaqas (i.e. activities, topics, format, etc. ) This week we will have a short talk about taking advice, because WE WANT TO TAKE YOUR ADVICE. We will then finish up and play a game afterwards inshallah. We all need a tiny study break, SO COME THROUGH!

QUARTERLY QURAN QUEST
Salam brothers and sisters. InshAllah this quarter we will have a Quran competition. The purpose is to strengthen our bond with Allah (swt) and what better way to do it than through His word ? It is not about who is the best reciter, or who has the best voice; the intention is for all of us to strengthen our bond with the Quran and ultimately become closer to Allah (swt). If you are interested, there is more information attached at the end of this email. We highly hope everyone participates, do not feel discouraged, there are multiple categories for all skill levels. EGYPT/TUNISIA Teach-In

The United Arab Society has invited UCLA History's very own Professor James Gelvin and MPAC's Salam al-Maryati to lead a the teach-in. They will be discussing how the protests got started, what the protesters are demanding, the implications for the entire region, and also how the situation fits in the context of the history of the Middle Eastern (including U.S. foreign policy).
