 UVP and AMP are hosting a Pre-Health Workshop!  There will be UCLA and USC MEDICAL, PHARMACY, DENTAL and NURSING students and professionals coming to speak about their respective fields and to help YOU get into the the school you want! These speakers are taking time out of their busy schedules just for you so don't miss out on this great opportunity to get ALL your questions answered and to either help you make a decision on your future plans or solidify your plan to get where you want to go!

LEARN TO READ ARABIC AND TAJWEED CLASS FOR SISTERS

WE HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE A SISTER WHO IS WILLING TO TEACH ANYONE HOW TO READ ARABIC AND ULTIMATELY READ QURAN. FOR THOSE WHO ALREADY KNOW HOW TO READ QURAN SHE IS ALSO TEACHING THE BASICS OF HOW TO READ THE QURAN WITH THE RECITATION RULES (TAJWEED)

ROOTS OF THE CONFLICT

Our FIRST teach-in of the quarter in preparation for Palestine Awareness Week 2011 is this Thursday January 27th entitled "Roots of the Conflict" and we'd love to have you guys come on out. We'll be covering the history of this highly volatile situation as well other crucially relevant information to keep in mind when engaging others about Palestine. Hope to see you all there, let's commit ourselves the cause and improve our collective knowledge as best as possible before PAW 2011 arrives Week 8!

Sheikh Abdul Nasir Al Jangda from Bayyinah Institute will be talking about reflections from a specific Surah in the Qur'an which will be announced in the next email insha'Allah. So stay tuned. You definitely do not want to miss out on this lecture.

QUARTERLY QURAN QUEST


Salam brothers and sisters. InshAllah this quarter we will have a Quran competition. The purpose is to strengthen our bond with Allah (swt) and what better way to do it than through His word ? It is not about who is the best reciter, or who has the best voice; the intention is for all of us to strengthen our bond with the Quran and ultimately become closer to Allah (swt). If you are interested, there is more information attached at the end of this email.
