Our electronics expert said that this will happen routinely if the glow duration is turned up too high or the carbon rods are not well-centered at their intersection. (But we do not have that specific carbon coater, so this is generic info)

Not sure the question (machine, coating, or carbon analyses?) for carbon coating only.

I didn't use carbon for coating noiw.
