Inauguration of Governor Berkel

As Salaam Walaikum Everyone,

Tomorrow, April 6th, 2010, is an historic day for Statia and the rest of the Netherland Islands. For the 1st time, a Muslim governor is being sworn in office. We, as Muslims on the island, need to show our support for him on his big day. He has especially invited us and made a separate section for us.

So here are the logistics.
1st---All of the us, need to meet at the masjid by 5pm. We walk down to the fort from there at 5:15pm, SHARP. It is imperative that we walk down there as a unit so everyone needs to be at the masjid before hand.
 2nd---If you have Islamic/culturing clothing which would scream the fact that you are Muslim that would be preferred. However, I know not everyone on the island has that, so just try to dress nice and look presentable.

Also I know that exams are around the corner and we are all busy. However, if we take out at most a few hours from our routine, we will make a very strong impression about Muslims. So it is imperative that all the Muslims on the island show up and walk to the Fort as a unit.

I urge once again to every Muslim on the island to come to the Masjid at 5pm, so we can attend this inauguration and support our brother on this day.
