Hi Every One,

I am not an advanced dynamics user but do better than most I work with. I am also not an administrator - just a lowly end user.

I have created an Excel template and uploaded it back to D365. It is nothing more than some basic column widths, hiding a row, adding a title and setting some print areas. Simple stuff really.

Now when I try to download the file, is there any way to only retrieve the selected records on screen or download the file with the current filtering that is applied to the saved view?

We have something like 10,000 contacts. About 2,500 of these have several hundred rows of data. I have filters enabled to only show the rows of data that apply to the report I want. This brings the results down to around 30-40, per person. I just want the excel template to produce rows of data for the current contact I am looking at.

Can the excel template only show the saved and filtered view or it always default to showing me 100,000 records?

Thanks super wizards.

Hi Sana,

Now when I try to download the file, is there any way to only retrieve the selected records on screen or download the file with the current filtering that is applied to the saved view?

--- You can't download selected records from Advanced Find as the Export to excel button will be disabled with you will select set of records but as a work around you can apply your specific filter criteria to advanced find view to only return data based on specific condition and then you can export all the records.

We have something like 10,000 contacts. About 2,500 of these have several hundred rows of data. I have filters enabled to only show the rows of data that apply to the report I want. This brings the results down to around 30-40, per person. I just want the excel template to produce rows of data for the current contact I am looking at.

--- You can use filter based on the contact and these views can be shared with all the users from Admin, so all user can select contact and get data based on the contact selected in advanced find.

Can the excel template only show the saved and filtered view or it always default to showing me 100,000 records?

--- You can save your view after your filter criteria and can use that view to get data anytime
