The GPA rating is a way to communicate if an objective or the goals of
strategic initiative are being met. The best way to use the GPA field
is to assess the key initiative against multiple variables and use a
weighting system to come up with a GPA. For example, for the key
initiatives one could assess:
- If the economics of the initiative are in-line with the original
estimation
- If the initiative is delivering the promised benefits
- If the initiative is progressing toward an acceptable timeline
- If the risks associated to the initiative are under control
By assessing those variables individually and given them a relative
weight, one can now compute an overall GPA (1 to 400) representing
well the overall performance and health of the initiative.
