Joyce:
Basic diff is:
End-user computing: deals with direct use of IT Tools and in current times means the issues and challenges faced by users while working in these IT Tools. These issues are mostly user competence, training&learning, issues about support etc. Example: In using different IT tools , are the users competent enough or trained enough?
End-user development – Deals with systems development. Users build their own applications, because oneself knows their requirements best. E.g – Ms-Excel(pivot tables or macros); Ms-acess(queries etc), Smartlist utility in Great Plains. You can create an invoice management system in excel if you know ur way around excel.
End-user development is a system development methodology in SDLC. Read Module3>Topic 3.2 to better grasp this concept.
In my opinion, they both are fundamentally different and differences are not even subtle.
I hope this helps
