Hello,

I just wanted to follow up with you and see what the status was of this, I know that quest refunds come out in July and was hoping that we could have this settled before then.

Thank you,

Rachel

Hi Rachel

I am really sorry this is taken so long but  this is not as simple as it may sound.  The department “cannot give you money”, we will have to write a cheque and send it to you.  There are a couple of things that are at play currently with Finances and the money from D2L which is why is this is so complicated.

I am still waiting from an answer from the chair but in the mean time, something that will help in the process, were the money to come from the department account is that it would be great if you could stop by my office and fill up a request form and bring receipts for your project that amount to $500 or more.  From last experience, this was the best way to proceed with the “reimbursement” of the award, as a non taxable income.  This way as soon as I hear back for the green light, we can have the request process and you will receive the money within 2 to 3 weeks of that.

Let me know when it would be convenient for you to stop in my office today. I am in E5 from 12h30 til 3 too so I could meet you there then too.

Apologies for the short/late notice, I was hoping to hear from Prof Fieguth about the decision but I believe he s away and not checking email

Hello Professor,

My design team is working on finalizing our budget. We were under the impression that the money from our award at symposium was going to come from the department, and that it was going to be finished by April 5th. My team has decided that it makes the most sense if the department can give them money to me. I am trying to leave town this coming Friday. Is there a way that we can ave this wrapped up before then?

Thank you,

Rachel
