Hello,

I would like to know if MRIQC has been tested on rat brains T2W MR images.

Is it viable? Or the software is 'human brain' specific?

Best regards,
Javier Martínez

I think the answer is yes, but you should trust Eilidh, not me, on this one.

You are correct:

The new species flag (available in 22.0.0) takes either human or rat as an input (so far - more species coming soon, hopefully). This feature was tested on a study containing T2w RARE anatomical and bold functional images.

I’m not entirely sure about how robust the head masking algorithm is in rats, so there may need to be improvements in this regard, but we can test it and go from there.

All the best,
Eilidh
