Please login and write literary letters to me. Make me aware when you've written a letter (don't forget to include the date and sign your full name!) Literary letters are due to me from every student at least twice each month. I welcome more responses!

Literary letters are for students to think critically about the reading they are doing each night for 30 minutes. Letters should be a full page of written script, and enough to demonstrate deep thinking. I am much more interested in hearing student reaction to character and author choices than I am interested in.

If notified properly, my goal is to respond to letter within 24 hours.

Dear Mr. Cunningham,
I have started the second book in the Kingdom Keepers series so far it is good. So Far the five DUI kids Finn,Maybeck,Willa,Charlene, and Philliby are on a parade float for all the DHI hosts. Normally the DHI hosts are not aloud in Disney at all because people will want autographs and because the DHI's bring bad luck too. They just went through the gate of Magic Kingdom and they saw their DHI selves. I read the back of the book and they are going to be saving Animal Kingdom instead of Magic Kingdom. This time instead of a Disney evil witch it is a monkey. What???? The backs give it all away well almost all anyway. Kinda like when i read the hard cover flip thing on The Hunger Games I read that Katniss and Peeta live and survive the hunger games. I can not wait to read al six six of the Kingdom Keepers series. I also can't wait to read Out Of My Mind. Do you suggest any higher leveled books? Like maybe a 7,8,or 9 grade books?? And good ones too I also like to read books that make me cry!! Weird! Any way I hope you liked my letter!! See you tomorrow!
From, Kailey! :)

Dear Mr.Cunningham, 12/20/13

Last month,I read James which is the 59th book of the Bible. It was written by James,Jesus' brother,in Jerusalem in 62 CE. His objective was to exhort the twelve tribes to be strong in faith and show endurance when facing trials. James also gave them counsel to correct disturbing conditions that were developing in the christian congregations.

During that time,James was trying to warn about attitudes that can ruin their relationship with God. There are many lessons in this book, I will share some with you.

In chapter 2,verses 8 and 9,shows that true Christians do not show favoritism, as this is contrary to "the kingly law" of love. I also learned in chapter 3 verses 13-17 that "the wisdom from above",is superior to "the earthly, animalistic, demonic" wisdom and that we should keep searching for godly wisdom as if it were hidden treasures.

I also liked verse 18 of chapter 3 because it showed me the importance of being a peace-maker and not an arrogant, quarrelsome person. The first chapter of the book of James showed me that God doesn't try us with evil things, and that Jehovah provides us with everything good if we have faith in him and ask him for support.

I recommend that you read the bible book of James yourself which you can find at JW.org You can find the whole bible on the home page, listed as The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. Just click and read!

Look forward to my next letter. I am not sure if it will be on another bible book or an animal. Thank you for reading my letter and I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely, Landen Weathers

Dear Mr. Cunningham,

I recently read the 2013 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses. I would like to share some interesting parts with you. This book mainly features the country of Myanmar, but also has highlights from other countries around the world regarding the preaching work.

One of the experiences is from Sa Than Htun Aung, a man who was a former military soldier and a Buddhist. This man did not believe in God, after attending church with a friend he wanted to draw close to this God he learned about. After getting married in 1982, his sister in law, who was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, gave them a book called "From Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained”. This book showed me that God's name is Jehovah. Eventually he studied the bible and started attending the Kingdom Hall and finally got baptized in 1993. Some of his family benefitted from him learning about Jehovah. Some are pioneers who preach about God's Kingdom fulltime. He found a happier and more fulfilling life now that he is serving the true God.

Another experience is about a man named Lian San. He was born in 1950 and joined the army when he was 21. He fought 20 battles and in 1977 his camp was attacked and he stepped on a land mine and lost both of his legs. When he moved to Sagaing he met a Baptist who told him that it was God's will he lost his legs. Then he and his wife met a pioneer named Rebecca who told them that he would get his legs back in the Paradise as promised in the Bible. Soon they started studying the Bible and now 30 years later, he and his family are serving Jehovah. He preaches using a motorbike or a wheelchair. His favorite scripture is Isaiah 35:6 which says, ”at that time the lame one will climb up just as a stag does”.

The theme for this yearbook is taken from Joshua 1:9 which says, ”Be courageous and strong ...Jehovah your God is with you”. True Christians are soon to cross into the new promised world, so they need to be courageous and strong because the battles we have to fight against those who want to break our integrity to God. We fight with spiritual weapons that Jehovah teaches us to use skillfully. This book encourages all that read it to be courageous against all odds.

I have an extra copy if you would like to read it too.

Sincerely, Landen Weathers

Dear Mr.Cunningham,

I'd like to share with you a part of the book of Revelation that I have just finished reading today.

There's a part of chapter 6 that describes 4 horses. The first of these was a snow white horse and riding it was a man who was in white clothing, this horse signified unblemished holiness and Jesus was the rider. It portrays warfare that is clean and righteous in Jehovah's holy eyes. Jesus goes forth conquering Satan and hurls him down to earth along with his bad demonic angels.

The next one was a red horse and riding it was a soldier, this signified war and to take peace away from the earth. This of course has been fulfilled as there have been many wars since the enthronmentof Jesus in 1914. Between 1914-1918 28 nations, whole populations, not just professional soldiers, were pressed into the war effort. 9 million soldiers were slaughtered. No real peace has returned to earth.
The third was a black horse and had a skinny man and this signified famine.
The final horse was pale and had a skeleton riding it with it's grave following close behind. This signified death.

Even though these are scary prophesies, there is a good prophesy at the end of Revelation chapter 21 verses 3 and 4 where there will be a time when all of these will be brought to an end. It promises "With that I heard a loud voice from the them, say:Look! The tent of god is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

Sincerely, Landen

Dear Mr. Cunningham I would like to share a part of Dear Dumb Diary Never Estimate Your Dumbness that I have finished today

In the book Thursday 19th Jamie Kelly wrote " Now don't get me wrong. Not sll meatloaf is bad. Isabella's Mom makes this Unbelievable meat loaf that is so delicious, it's probably the second best thing a cow could wish for. Then I started to think what if Isabella got her diary and she left it a school and her mom thought it was her's and read that thinking Isabella is disrespecting her.Just thinking out loud here.

Finishing thi sbook makes me really glad I started reading this series it's funny but at the same time it makes you think like What If she didn't do that or What If this happened I really recommend this book to people who just have to read something word but still resembling s comic.

Sincerely, Leila

Dear Mr. Cunningham

I have now finished the latte rebellion I am terribly sorry at the late return and fail the test out of loss of memory. But gladly I think I will like this book a lot more I am reading Maximum Ride School's Out Forever. I am now on page 13 and so far I think this book is fun and creative, but when the Erasers where hunting the main characters I was puzzled at the reason they split up and they use such a descriptive way to explain how they were attacking it took um half a page! And I am starting to understand why peers like this book as much as they do!

Sincerely,

Leila

Dear,Mr.Cunningham

I am reading Boat Kid and it's about This girl who grows up on a sailboat and she lives on a very big one to and it's called The Chèz Ńouz and it's HUGE! So back to the point this girl grows up with her baby sister, Mother, and Father and the cover says that she was home schooled, and swam with sharks!

This book reminds me of Robinson Crusoe because, Robinson Crusoe lived on a sail boat and This Girl lives on a Sail Boat.

Dear Mr.Cunningham,

I am reading a new book called the face on the milk carton. One day a girl named Jamie looks on the back of a milk carton, that sponcers missing kids for years ago, So jamie looks at one and sees a picture of her.See keeps on haveing daymares arter that. She wants to see her birth certificite, to see if she was really stolen. Then see goes up in her attic and sees a box that has a name (Hannah) she does not know. One day seh asks when she can't see her birth ccertificte and who is Hannah. They tell her that they don't have her birth certificate and Hannah is her real mom and gave her to them. So the reason thet did not have her birth certificate is because Hannah did not give it to them. It is a really good book and i am on capter 10 in 2 days. So what do you think?

Dear Mr Cunningham,

I just finished reading the book called Shadow written by Michael Morpurgo. The book was about a boy and his mother traveling to England with a stray dog. Shadow enters the story while they are in a cave hiding from the Taliban. The Taliban ended up finding the family in the cave and killed the grandmother who was originally traveling with them. Shadow was a comfort and a protector for the family. The family named her Shadow because she never left their side. Along the way, they get help from the mother's brother who is in England. While in England, they get caught as illegal asylum seekers. They get put in a prison while awaiting a flight to take them back to Afghanistan. the boy's friend Matt and his grandfather set up a protest to Aman and his mom go. The protest worked and they were able to leave the prison as free people.

Dear Mr Cunningham

I have just finished A Tangle of Knots by Lisa Graff. It is a really good book about Cady who has a talent for baking perfect cakes for any individual at any time but it has different stories inside of it that tie in with Cady's story and many problems which makes this book really heard to wrap your head around. But I question why Graff didn't just base books off of the characters and make a trilogy, it could be she didn't have enough time to there is really a lot of possibilities.I also think it is kind of a mystery kind of fanatsy because it does mention giants and pixies on a serious meaning. This is a really good suspencful book and anyone who likes suspense I urge to read it.

Sincerely,
Leila

Dear Mr.Cunningham,

I've just started a book called "Buddy", it's about a dog and a boy, named 'Lil'T',in New Orleans, and they are almost inseparable until hurricane Katrina came and have to go through a lot of troubles to be able to see each other again. To me, Buddy is an outstanding character already. Do you think that too? If you do, please write back to me.
