As Gatsby and Nick went to the city with Tom, Daisy, and Jordan, the
truth came out about Daisy and Gatsby's current affair. Do you agree
with the way Gatsby handled the situation? Should he have done it
differently? If so, how? Explain.

I think Gatsby just assumed what Daisy wanted, but it was rude of him
to do that. If he really cared about Daisy, he would have given her
time and let her speak her own mind. Gatsby did not handle the
situation very well, he just jumped into it and like I already said,
he assumed Daisy's real feelings about the situation instead of
listening to her. He should have let it alone and left it to Tom and
Daisy to discuss later. They would have talked about it and Daisy
would have had the chance to say what she wanted to say on her own.

Gatsby should have let Daisy tell Tom, instead of just blurting things
out. Daisy could have took the time to say what was wrong, and things
could have been different. All Gatsby did was say Tom, Daisy does not
love you anymore. The fact that Gatsby was speakng for Daisy is
wrong. I think that if Gatsby really loved her, and felt that
something needed to be said to Tom, that Daisy should have told him,
not Gatsby. I do not understand why they all went into town, to get a
quick break from each other or what, but i do not think that it was
necessary.

Sooner or later, Tom would find out about the affair between Daisy and
Gatsby. Obviously, the secret did not come out the best way it could
have been revealed but it adds a little spice to the story and without
it, the story would not have been as great. Daisy or Daisy and Tom
should have just told Tom about the affair and also talked about Tom's
affair that he was having with Myrtle. Since, the fight broke out in
the hotel room, Gatsby should have had more sympathy towards Tom since
he was betraying him. Gatsby seemed very self-centered at this point
of the book and made the readers look at him in a different way. The
secret of the affair was bound to get out and any way it came out it
was going to be a very hostile environment.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that I do agree with how Gatsby
handled the situation. I say this because Gatsby finally found Daisy,
after how many years of searching. I believe that Gatsby was over
excitied and had to blurt it out. He believed that Daisy did still
love him; she was giving him all the signs at the house. Gatsby also
knew that Daisy would never tell Tom, so he had to take it into his
own hands. Gatsby probably could of said it better then just blurting
it out though. Actually, there is not one good way to tell someone
that you love his or her spouse. I have no real suggestion on how
Gatsby should have handled the situation.
