How has Winston's environment changed? What does he do with his
time? How does he show his obedience to the Inner Party?

Because of the torturing, Winston has undergone some dramatic changes.
His appearance has changed and he looks a lot older than he is.
Winston no longer has any desires or feelings for anything except big
brother. After being released, he got a new job with the party and
does less work for more money, so in a sense he is better off than
before. He is no longer closely monitored by the telescreens, and he
can live more freely now, but chooses not to. He spends most of his
time at the cafe place and drowns his sorrows in a bottle. Winston's
only passion now is to see how Oceania is doing in the war. and he is
always present when a new bulletin is announced. He loves Big Brother

Winston's environment of the cell has changed completely. When
Winston was fairly new to the cell, he barely got any food and
received pain from O'Brien almost every hour. The book describes how
Winston's face as well as his body had completely lost all of its fat
to a point where he looked like a skeleton. He was weary, drained,
tired, and would have probably done anything for O'Brien just to kill
him. Once he started thinking in the way that the Party wants him to
think he began to get rewards. He began to get fatter and stronger
every day. His new cell was more comfortable and has pillows and a
mattress. He was able to take baths and get new clean clothes. Now
he was able to get food three times a day, which sometimes even
included meat.

Winston laid in bed a lot to stay away from trouble since he did not
feel like being in any more pain. Then he started exercising and was
able to do so much more than he could before.

It is really weird to read about Winston obeying the Party's laws. He
just agrees with everything that the Party tells him. He does not
fight against O'Brien anymore and just obeys him and the other
leaders. He even writes down that Oceania was never at war with
Eurasia and that the party was right and that the past was never
altered.

His looks change drastically. He becomes extremely frail and thin and
pale. He basically sits back and listens while they tortured him and
he dealt with it. I agree with what Stuart said about how he has no
feelings towards anything except the Party. But then things change
and he recieves 3-meals in a 24 hour day. They let him bath with warm
water and a tin of soap. They give him new overalls to wear.

Things changed a lot in Winston's life after being in the cell. At
first he started out with nothing, and grew to have a few things and
was able to live life somewhat. He gives up his love for Julia and
lets the Party control him and tell him how he is supposed to live.

Winston is a totally different person after being imprisoned in the
Ministry of Love. He doesn't care about life anymore, he has no
feeling and look a lot older than he actually is. The Party
brainwashed him to the point that he start to like the Party and their
ideas and finally to love Big Brother, which was his worse enemy in
the beginning. He shows his obedience to the Party but not trying to
break the law anymore and also by changing his thoughts. He is always
telling himself that he invents some of his thoughts himself, that
everything he learned from the past is not true, it is just dreams in
his mind and he doesn't want to have them anymore.
He changed job and doesn't do anything special during his free time.
He just sits at a café and drink gin, listening to the bulletin
explaining how Oceania is doing at war with Eurasia again. He starts
to believe everything the Party says and wants to follow it. Finally,
the Party shot him because he is cured (the Party had to wait till he
is cured to shoot him because nobody can be insane before dying). What
completely proves that he is cured is that he says that he loves Big
Brother. He knows he is going to die and he is just waiting for the
bullet, he doesn't care to live anymore.

he changed his opinion about the party, because they were torturing
him, so now he has to believe that 2+ 2 =5 and he
has to be in the party`s side now, he showed it doing things that
party wants that he does. Now he is a normal citizen who has to believe
in the party.

be able to get food tree times a day. also spend most all the time in
the cafe place to drink gin called Chestnut Tree Cafe where dismisser
party members go to drink.he comes to the conclusion that he was
foolish to opposite the party alone, and tries to make for himself
believe in party slogan, also he writes down that Oceania was NEVER at

Winston's time is up he doesnt care about life anymore and he doesn't
care about anything else winston is brainwashed by the party, his once
viberant hatred towards the party had now turned into a mild
acceptance of the grusome place. And despite all of his best efforts
he will die the exact same way he lived towards the end just a
forgotten memory of what the party stands for and what " Big Brother"
wants him to be. He also is vey different looking in his physical
apperance as well the torture had given him a permenent look of a much
older character.

After being brain washed, Winston's environment and life changed.
Before, he always wonder and thought about things that no one else
would. He hide from the Party to be invovled with a woman, Julia. He
wrote in his journal, Down With Bog Brother. He wanted to be alone
and away from the telescreens. Now, Winston does not care. Now, he
is the same as everyone else. His appearance is different, as well as
his thoughts. His appearanve seemed to look older than what he really
is. His thoughts were not in a wide range of ideas on how to escape,
they were narrowed and scattered. He spent some time writing in his
diary, at his new job, and playing chess. He has learned things that
he never wanted to learn before. Maybe brain washing was good for
him, because it made him stop thinking about problems and the Party.
He has learned to love Big Brother.
