Hi,

are there any performance figures available regarding practical use of MQTT?.

could imagine a scenario like this:

Application runs in the cloud (would be nice to have figures for various clouds ...)
Broker runs outside/inside the cloud
There are various numbers of publishers (10, 100, 1000) that publishes various amount of data with different frequency.

Has anybody heard/read about such investigation?

Or are there an experiences?

Thank you and best regards,

Frank

Hi Frank,

I've also been looking at some of these lately. My experience is entirely superficial in that I haven't verified any of these figures myself, but I pass them along to assist your search.

http://www.hivemq.com/benchmarks/  (Just HiveMQ - gotta give up your business card!)

I'd like to see other benchmarks too if anyone has some to share.

I did some benchmarking as part of this paper:

I was basically testing up to 400 independent clients, each testing the latency between sending a message and receiving the same message once it had been through the broker. I found that Mosquitto latency was around 1ms even under heavy load.

Hi Paul,

thank you very much for this information. I was occupied by another project and could not answer earlier.

Best regards,

Frank
