Can I use the rear ones? I would keep for a spell until we get wheels finally sorted. YOu know our luck.
I never thought your priority list would have price as 1st. You got mine pretty close.
I would say "looks" would be up there, but that would include things like wide fit. I am a bit ignorant on the sizing thing.
The width (8,9.5, 10, etc) determines the width of tire like 295. So, is there a place I can get an idea of what widths and tires can match? 295 are nice, but I can live with 275 (that is what we had).
Is there an 18" 10 ? doubt it.

I am still drawn to the 18 sport but cant seem to stomach the 18" yet. I would not mind that satin finish as it would be a snap to keep "looking" clean, even if not truly clean.

Know waddeyemeen?

I am gonna look on discount tire direct. If you have any other leads, shoot me.

Actually – if you go to tirerack.. and look up the specs tab for a particular tire, the rim widths will be listed that it will fit on.

For example, the pilot sport in a 295 25 20 can fit on a 10 thru 11”  wide wheel.

Click on the ‘sport’ in prev sentence to see the graph.

So I see the 18” sport are same size wheel so I guess that means not staggered. The enkei are aggressive and have diff width. If I can max out back tire, their look may offset their smaller size. On tirerack site. That may be the tire. Black spokes, chrome lip. Might be the ticket. Looks nice on virtual view.

I'm pretty happy with Enkei wheels. You're right about the fat tires.. it could offset the size nicely. Which enkei wheels? The WDM?

Ok.. this is what makes sense to me..
Get the Enkei RP03 staggered set.. remove the tires from your ccw wheels.. to minimize losses, then sell the CCws outright.
That should save you a bit of money and get you a inexpensive high quality wheel thats light and easy to clean. The clean is a classic five spoke.. in a silver.. and you're really minimizing your expenses cuz the tires you have will fit.
PLUS.. if you want to go fatter on the rear you can.. later..after you wear these out .. which you would probably do anyway very soon.

Actually the wdm is what I liked. Now that I am looking at other bmw 3 series with the oem 17 and 18 they look cheesy. Not aggressive enough. Maybe it is the tire. I really like the wdm aggressive look which offsets the black spokes, but the rpo3 are nice as well, except the center hub area (nook and cranny). Still torn. My uncle called and said big  wheels are “ghetto Mexican” out west. He is old school. I am somewhere between. Check out the wdm enkei. I will look for similar in 19” elsewhere. If I get the enkei, I would just buy the fat tire. Need to make sure big brake kit will fit, and see if we can go bigger than recommended. That link to the chart you sent indicates that an 18-9.5 could take up to a 275 width.

Ring me if you can.

I’m glad you feel comfortable with the new course of action for the wheels. I think we’ll be happy with the result.

Funny you say that. Was looking hard at the wheels this morning and could not figure out if it would work. Like we said, worse that could happen if the painting goes well, but it doesn’t help the neurosis (not psychosis), the ccw can be unloaded and back to stage 1. On the other hand, such things eventually wear on ones back and we just move on and adapt. I think it will be fine. I love those wdm but I think they wont fit the big brake kit. Looks like big brakes NEED that pooched out spoke look. Trade off: want big brakes, need pooched spokes.

Most critical issue now is timing  and logistics for karl’s work and tire swap. I can jack up car this weekend and have wheels avail. I get back sat afternoon. If needed, and if you willing to make the trip (BTW, I am good to cover you for your time if need be), then I can tell Marcela. If we do that, lets move the car over to be less intrusive when on jacks.

Then maybe karl can have wheels by mid next week?

Assuming its possible.

I’m going to drop off the back two wheels tonight.. I think we can get them done by this weekend.

If we can get them done.. I can probably drive them out there on Sat/Sunday.  Then grab the other two.

Full steam ahead, my neurotic one.
